The SD Collectibles card show on 10/5 was nothing short of amazing! It was thrilling to see so many new faces, especially young collectors, checking out the show for the first time. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as seasoned collectors, casual buyers, and newcomers all gathered to share their passion for sports cards, TCGs, comic books, and collectibles.
Some of the standout vendors included my fellow sponsor, Supreme Card Shop, and of course, the incredible crew at SD Collectibles, along with The Pencil Fighter and more. These vendors brought a wide variety of collectibles to the table—graded vintage cards, raw singles, Pokémon and other TCG cards, signed memorabilia, comic books, and so much more!
But the best part? The sense of community and knowledge-sharing that was present throughout the day. I have to share one special story that really captured the spirit of the hobby: A young boy and his father came by my table, wide-eyed as they admired some of the Toronto Blue Jays cards. My son, Logan, noticed their excitement and asked the boy who his favorite players were. Without hesitation, the boy named Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette. To the boy's surprise and delight, Logan reached into his case, pulled out a graded Bo Bichette Rookie card, and gave it to him as a gift. The smile on that boy's face was priceless, and it made me incredibly proud to see my son share his love for the hobby with another young collector. That’s what this community is all about—connecting with others through our shared passion.
Looking ahead to the 10/19 SD Collectibles Card Show, we’re expecting even more excitement! Many of the same awesome vendors will be there, along with a few new faces. Whether you’re into sports cards, Pokémon, or even comic books, you’ll find something that piques your interest.
If you missed out on the EZ Sports Cards and Collectibles Multi-Sport Mystery Slab Packs last time, don’t worry—they’ll be back! These packs were a huge hit, and we even donated a couple for the SD Collectibles hourly drawings. Winners snatched them up in no time, and attendees were quick to grab more packs as soon as they could. Make sure to pick one up for a chance to score something special!
Speaking of drawings, don't forget that your $3 entry fee comes with a ticket for the hourly drawings, so be sure to stick around for a chance to win some awesome prizes.
Beyond sports cards, you'll find even more signed memorabilia, Pokémon cards, TCGs, and comic books on display. Signed Padres and Dodgers memorabilia were particularly popular at the 10/5 show, thanks to the NLDS playoff matchup starting that night. Expect the same level of energy as we head deeper into the postseason and the stakes rise even higher!
As SD Collectibles continues to grow, they're actively seeking larger venues to bring in even more vendors and offer a broader variety of collectibles. The future is bright for these shows, and I can't wait to see how they evolve.
So mark your calendars for October 19th and join us for another fantastic show full of deals, rare finds, and community vibes. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just getting started, there's something for everyone at the SD Collectibles Card Show. See you there!
